I’ve spent my career helping people make room for change.

I’m Melanie Taylor, LPC-S.

I’ve worked in psychiatric hospitals, child day treatment, school-based services, and as a director of therapeutic foster care. I’ve built programs for individuals, families, and companies.

I’ve also owned and operated two group practices. Today, I run my own solo practice and a company that provides training for therapists.

My work has taken me from sitting with people in some of their hardest moments to building the programs, practices, and training that support their care. Those experiences shape the questions I ask, the details I notice, and how I approach the work we do together.

I’ve worked hard to get to this side.

I know what it takes to sit down with yourself and ask: Who am I? What do I want? What needs to change?

I’ve done that work, and I’m still doing it. It can be a beautiful, brutal process to untangle who you are from everything you learned to be.

I’ve participated in therapy intensives myself since 2018 and offered them professionally since 2019. I understand the fear of choosing someone and hoping they can help you reach something you haven’t been able to get to on your own.

That’s why I take your time, your trust, and your investment seriously.

You’re allowed to take yourself seriously here.

The thing you keep brushing off. The conversation you keep rehearsing. The feeling you explain away because someone else has it harder.

We can pay attention to those things.

We’ll look at what happens when you try to do something differently. What makes you hesitate? What do you tell yourself? What feels too risky to ask for?

There’s room to be honest about what you want, even when you haven’t said it out loud before.

Together, we create movement so you can create change.

I love ideas. Making things. Art journaling. Chunky blankets. Spending time with my friends and coming up with crazy ideas that occasionally turn into actual plans.

Creating gives me room to play, try something, and see where it goes. I’m learning to give myself that same room in the rest of my life.

I’m a work in progress, and I’m extremely proud of the work I’ve done.

I hope I get to hear you say that about yourself one day, too.

Outside the therapy room, I’m usually creating something.

What do you want to make room for?

You don’t need a perfect explanation. We can begin with what you know: something hurts, something keeps happening, or something needs to change.
